For everyone trying to find a deeper connection to the world and yourself. Here's a little inspiration.
When trying to practice skillful speaking, include speaking without any tone in your voice. Others will pick up on even the slightest tone of hostility in your words which will unconsciously make them defensive as well.
Instead, pause - recognize your hostile feelings and speak from a genuine place of kindness. In return, the person you’re speaking with will most likely pick up on your peace and you can carry on a progressive conversation based on ideas rather than “i’m right and you’re wrong”.
Truthfulness: We are all role models and teachers. Good teachers are wise, compassionate, humble, and truthful. While at camp this summer be very aware of your actions and words towards and around all children. With every thought, word, and deed you are influencing the life of a young person.
Sincere honesty in grace. Not being afraid to speak your truth and express your authentic self. Not feeling threatened when listening to another’s authentic truth. Removing fear from the equation entirely. Knowing when to speak poignantly and also knowing when it is better to remain silent. Right communication, both parts, speaking and listening, in wisdom and sincerity. Mean what you say. Listen with an open heart. Satya.
